How it works
Relational Skills Health delivers a one-on-one relationship to Medicaid members to support their mental health goals.
Step 1
Assessment and plan

Every member starts with a licensed clinician. In New York that is the CORE assessment and person-centered plan. In Illinois it is the Integrated Assessment and Treatment Plan using the IM+CANS. The plan names the functional goals the specialist will work on. No skill-building session is delivered without one.

Step 2
Matched to a Relational Skills Specialist

The member is matched with a specialist by shared background and the goals in the plan. Sessions are one-to-one, in person or by video, on the member’s schedule. The first session happens within days of the referral, not weeks.

Step 3
Supervision and follow-through

A licensed clinician supervises every specialist, reviews progress notes, and revisits the plan at set intervals. If a member disengages, the specialist and supervisor act on it the same week. Engagement is tracked for every member: the share who return after a first session, the share who reach 13 sessions, and crisis events over time.
